Georgia Ens
Georgia is our lovely Manager of First Impressions. When you walk into the brewery she’s the one flashing her pearly whites at you. Her job is a mighty one - taking all the orders, invoicing, scheduling deliveries, and greeting/helping walk-in customers, among a bunch of other tasks that help keep things running smoothly.
She has worked at the brewery since 2015, doing things such as bottling, guiding tours, working the tap room and doing tastings throughout the city. Outside of work, she’s a sporty gal - she spent the summer guiding a 40-day canoe trip throughout the North West Territories (crossing the arctic circle!), frequents spin and boxing, and completed her Master of Science in Sports Psychology.
She also loves the Olympics so much that in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the ’88 Olympics she decided to watch PyeongChang 2018 wearing all of her mother's volunteer outfits from 88!
How did you get your start in the industry?
I needed a summer job after my undergrad and started working at Village on the bottling line in 2015! Then I moved over to the tap room and events while I worked on my masters. Now that my degree is finished I figured I would give my brain a little break from the books and since our lovely Shi is having a little babe I’m taking over for her!
What does your day to day at Village look like?
Everything from placing orders for accounts, to helping our sales reps and marketing crew with what they need to do their job well, to getting the right information to our delivery drivers, to helping curious beer connoisseurs when they walk through our door.
What is the best part of your job?
The environment in the office is really rad. There’s something new happening each day and working with your friends definitely doesn’t suck!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m all about outdoor adventures, grabbing beers with pals, eating my weight in sushi, and nerding out on scientific sport psych articles.
Favourite memory since joining the team?
Any time the brewers sing Kiss from a Rose by Seal.
Favourite Village beer?
Currently in love with our Cider.
Favourite non-Village Beer?
Hoyne - Dark matter.
Current song on repeat?
Fallingwater by Maggie Rogers.
Who are you cheering for?
All the ladies in the craft beer world!
Hidden Talent?
I’m really good at Guitar Hero.
