The Billy Doppelbock Party
What: Sooo we brewed a delicious collaboration brew with our Last Best beer besties. We made a German style Dopplebock, which is perfect for the season - a rich malty base and noble hops to balance it out. Dopplebock translates to “double goat” so we decided to throw a billy goat party - where the goat comes into play we aren’t quite sure yet. Its ugly Christmas sweater themed, and there will be prizes for the ugliest and most fantastic Christmas sweaters. You could also dress up as a goat if you want, or you and your bestie can be double doppelgangers?! Just throwing it out there. We can’t wait to see you there.

Market Collective
What: Market Collective is back for its 10th (yes tenth!) year, and to celebrate its going to be the biggest one yet! It will be held inside the BMO Centre, with over 150 local artist and artisan vendors. Seriously, this is a market collective so big, we need a lot of space to talk about it.
There will be six local food trucks with vegan/vego options (and all day breaky) inside an 11,000 square foot all-ages licensed area serving up the freshest Village brews, and tons of our favourite local artists on stage - 19 bands, 12 DJ’s, 1 choir, 3 dance troops, and 2 yoga sessions. Seriously, we would go for the music alone. There’s also going to be an obstacle course and a skate park with an all girls workshop put on by 100% Skate Club, and an intro workshop for all the skateboard newbies. If you need a caffeine buzz to start the weekend, there will be a cafe with local faves Rosso, Tru Buch, Made by Marcus, and the like. We could go on forever about how fun this will be, but instead just come visit us in the beer gardens! Oh, and did we mention its only $5.00 admission for the entire weekend?!

Luge 2018 World Cup Calgary
What: Canada Olympic Park will play host to the worlds fastest Luge athletes, as the Luge World Cup slides into Calgary for the third stop on the world circuit! There will be men and women singles, doubles, and team relays. Not only will there be 100 athletes from 20 countries competing, but there will also be lots of hot chocolate to warm those hands, a Village beer garden, the opportunity to try luge yourself, tons of activities for the kids, and live music! Come cheer on Canada this weekend!

What: Join abstract artists Keely Sorette and Kyla Alty, real life friends and neighbours, as they celebrate the opening of their first art show together. Enjoy colourful art, delicious beer and live music.

Jacket Drive for the Calgary Drop In Centre
Winter has come and we're collecting coats for the 8th Annual Jacket Drive for the Calgary Drop In Centre! Stop by the Village Brewery tap room on Saturday, bring in a lightly used jacket to donate and we'll give you a gift card good for a gift card for a future free pint to say thanks! If you can't make it down on the 8th, we'll still be accepting jackets until December 10th. Let's keep Calgary warm this winter!

Lunch Box Theatre
Our favourite cozy theatre (and the best way to spend lunch hour) has started its run of “It’s a Wonderful Life” from Nov 26 - Dec 22. This classic holiday story of love and redemption will be brought to life on stage by their Betty Mitchell Award-winning ensemble. You can catch this one hour performance every day (except Sunday) at noon, or Fridays at 6pm. This Friday there is a special Village sampling before the performance so you can have a cold one before the show.
